Summer 2007- 99 Drums
99 DRUMS were made by hand and shipped to Victoria BC, where 99
volunteer activists formed a drum circle around the court house and they
used the drums to express their frustration and distrust of the justice
system while planting the seeds of peace and goodwill. There was a big
party and the drums were signed by the volunteers. The drums were
collected and brought to Vancouver after the installation at Neto
Hatinakwe Onkwehowe Native Arts, where 99 other volunteer activist
formed a drum circle around the court house there.
The 99 DRUMS traveled from Victoria to Halifax and stopped at the major
centers, clearly demonstrating our power to achieve change and secure
authority over those who claim to serve us. When the tour was complete
the drums were auctioned off and the proceeds were donated to various
charities.

together in the Tradition of sharing, compassion and peace, hundreds of
individuals helped create the finished garments. The exhibit is the
brainchild of Mr. Samuel Thomas and Lorna Thomas-Hill, a mother and son
artistic team who are enrolled as members of the Lower Cayuga Band of
the Iroquois Nation, Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve.
